Panthers Sign Goalie

I really don't have much to say about this guy. I haven't heard of him until today. I guess he has very little NHL game time.

Oh well the cats need goaltending. We aren't desperate though so don't get your hopes up Eddie!!

Florida Panthers General Manager Mike Keenan announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with G Craig Anderson.

Anderson, 25, was drafted by Chicago as their third round choice (73rd overall pick) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. In 15 appearances for the Chicago Blackhawks last season, Anderson went 4-4 with a 2.78 GAA. The Park Ridge, Ill. native recorded his 2nd career shutout in a 3-0 win vs. Nashville on Mar.1, making 20 saves.

“Craig is a talented goaltender who we are pleased to have on our club,” said Keenan. “He is hard working and will play an important role in our team’s success next season.”

RE: Panthers Sign Goalie

He sure had a weird year. He was put on waivers by the blackhawks and picked up by Boston only to be waived on the same day and picked up by St. Louis. He lasted a month there before he was waived again and Chicago picked him up again. He'd be alright as a backup. Now with these rumors of Belfour going to Florida I wonder what the plans for Auld are. Perhaps they just want the depth in case Belfour gets injured again.

We (and I speak for the Panthers) don't want belfour.

I was kidding about speaking for the Panthers.

I think Belfour isn't worth signing. His career was over in my opinion before the injury/surgery.

Yeah I didn't really check his stats to closely. I guess has some experience. He has played in about 50 some games over the last four seasons.

He sure looks long and lanky. (6' 2" and 180 lbs)
