According to reports out of South Florida, the Panthers are searching for a new enforcer, but the hunt is proving to be difficult.

"It just hasn't been available, a person to fill that role," Panthers coach and GM Jacques Martin told the Palm Beach Post.

"It's a tough spot to fill, because you don't want to waste a roster spot on somebody who can't play the game."

The Post reports the Panthers are interested in Senators forward Chris Neil, while the team could also pursue Blue Jackets tough-guy Jody Shelley.


Martin told the Miami Herald he is being cautious in his search.

"Sometimes you go out and get a guy and it just doesn't work out," he said. "Then you're stuck with him."
