Penguins make splash in FA
TSN is reporting that the Penguins signed Petr Sykora and Darryl Sydor to two year contracts. Sykora is a nice pick up IMO. He was super hot in Edmonton at the start of the season and I can only imagine he'll pick up the slack in Pittsburgh. Sydor I don't care too much about. He gives depth to the offensive side.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed winger Petr Sykora and defenceman Darryl Sydor to two-year deals.
Sydor will earn $2.5 million per season. Sykora's financial details have not been released.
Sykora had 22 goals and 31 assists in 82 games last season. In 764 career games with the Oilers, Rangers, Ducks, and Devils he has tallied 247 goals and 318 assists.
In 74 games with the Dallas Stars last season, Sydor scored five goals and dished out 16 assists.
He has career totals of 94 goals and 377 assists in 1,097 career NHL games with the Stars, Lightning, Blue Jackets and Kings.

RE: Penguins make splash in FA
I think Sydor is a poor signing for $2.5M per year considering his age, he's slow, and the fact that he isn't as good as he used to be.
