Peter Bondra

According to Sportsnet Both the Leafs and Wings are apparantly interested in signing Peter Bondra. If this is true I guess the the Leafs haven't learned their lesson yet, still going after former stars that are at the end of their careers.

Lol, you're kind of right habsfan. Eklund, him, tells us that Montreal, DEtroit and the N.Y Rangers are the team that are the most interest in BOndra!

Quote:
Peter Bondra still has a lot in the tank. In a league where power plays are prevalent it is hard to imagine that no one will pay the small amount needed to land Bondra. Montreal (e3) and Detroit (e3) are apparently the two teams currently looking at this option. But according to a source very close to the situation, another team, the New York Rangers, are watching this closely as well…

Eklund says Detroit eh? so that means hes going to the Leafs, good for them, he is still capable of 20+ goals if he can stay healthy

is it just me or does New York seem to be rumoured about being interested in quite a few players... as in more than normal?

RE: Peter Bondra

You can't buy the cup in the new NHL anyway. You can buy picks, etc. as the Sharks did recently, but that's about it and it comes at a price most teams can't afford.

I would really doubt that Bondra goes to Toronto. He's a talented player still I believe but I'm thinking that the era of Leafs picking up older players on the decline is now over. Have a feeling that Maurice would have no interest in players of that nature and although he's not the GM, he still does have some influence in what decisions are made.

RE: Peter Bondra

I think the leafs could use another offensive forward, it certainly wouldn't hurt them. The only matter is whether or not they can afford to add Bondra.
