I think i'd go with the 2 A Idea. Fantasy drafting is wicked.

Id like to change my answer to just 2A. The fantasy draft would be wicked... and might be the only way to get Hossa AND Heatley back in Ottawa!

I'd join a 2A format league. As long as you're thinking of a non-keeper, non-dynasty fantasy league then I'm in, something simple I'd like. What site would you be running the league through and how many teams were you thinking? (Kinda don't feel like rummaging through the thread.. and haven't seen the answer yet)

Ok, first off, sorry about my absence in the past few days, I've been busy with exams and stuff, but anyways, I'm back and ready to kick this league into full gear. So, it appears the majority want a league with current rosters and a fantasy draft, so before I start, I'll give anyone who has any opposition to this to plead their case. But other then that, I'll get the league ready to go in the next few days.

2A is always the most fun. However, I think that it might be simpler to go with a stats-based league (like the one yahoo.com runs for free yearly). Those fantasy leagues seem to be simpler to run and, IMO, its more fun to have things based off real life.

I never ran a league like that before, but if you guys want, then sure. Personally, I think the FHL league is more fun because it gives you the oppertunity to take control of a team and build it your own way to try and take home a Stanley Cup. What do the rest of you guys think?

Alright, well, I'm having some difficulty finding the 05-06 rosters. The closest I've gotten are the 03-04 rosters. I'll keep looking, but would you guys mind starting from there? I could do the nessacary updates and add in players like Crosby and that, but once again, up to you.

I totally agree your idea. But I don't think you have to find the rosters. YOu just have to do a big draft were everyone draft the player that he wants!
