Richard Zednik
Oh my, ouch, poor Zednik! I have heard of this happening, but I am in shock that it has happened to one of our Panthers.
I wonder couldn't they make the skates safer that way things like this wouldn't happen?

Yeah and Malarchuk recovered and from the injury got OCD and had to retire early, lets hope that things are different for Zednik.

RE: Richard Zednik
I saw this last night, that is just horrible and I wish the best to Richard, and hope that he will be fine. God Bless him and his family.
And to answer your question Ruth. I dont think skate manufactors can prevent this from happening, The players like their skates sharp.

RE: Richard Zednik
its a horrible accident and I hope Zednik recovers from this to be healthy again. i agree that this kind of thing is a freak accident, but i don't think anyone can do something to prevent it unless hockey players start wearing chainmail or neck braces while they play (both which are very unlikely to happen). the whole point of skates is to keep them sharp so you can skate better on them.

RE: Richard Zednik
Throughout minor hockey players wear neck guards which would have prevented significant injury in this incident. I'm pretty sure it was after the Malarchuk incident that the league implemented a rule making goalies where a neck protector. I doubt it will happen for but you never know.

RE: Richard Zednik
They had a huge get well card at the game tonight. It was loaded with get well wishes.
It sounds like he is expected to make a full recovery. The doctors are saying he should be released from the hospital in the next couple days.

RE: Richard Zednik
Hiya! He should be home on Tuesday but I don't think we will see him back on the ice until next season.
John, did you sign his get well card? I didn't get the chance to
Have a good one!

this sounds good but the nhl wont make visors mandatory so i doubt that they will make them wear neck guards and if they leave it up 2 the players then they wont wear them i think the league should step in here whats yalls thoughts
