If you have not seen the hit here it is : http://youtube.com/watch?v=nt2nHz6AShw

This is the 4th incident with the Flyers and suspensions? Do you think the NHL should do something?

Flyers' Hartnell suspended for two games

Philadephia Flyers' winger Scott Hartnell has been suspended for two games for his hit on Boston Bruins' defenceman Andrew Alberts Monday night.

Hartnell was given a five-minute boarding penalty and a game misconduct for the hit and Alberts left the game with an unspecified head injury. He is expected to undergo further evaluation on Tuesday.

''It appears that Mr. Hartnell was attempting to let up on delivering a check to an opponent that was in a vulnerable position,'' NHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell said in a statement on Tuesday. ''However, at the point of contact, he did deliver a blow to the head of Mr. Alberts that resulted in an injury.''

Hartnell said that the hit on Alberts was not deliberate.

"I did not try to hurt him," Hartnell said after the game. "There was no intent at all. I am not that type of player. If you look at all the games this year and past years, I finish my checks every time I have an opportunity."

It was the first game between the two teams since Bruins' centre Patrice Bergeron suffered a concussion and broken nose as a result of being hit from behind by Flyers' defenceman Randy Jones, who was suspended for two games.

This is the fourth incident involving the Flyers this season that has led to a suspension. In the preseason, Steve Downie was suspended for 20 games after he launched himself at Ottawa Senators' forward Dean McAmmond, leaving him with a concussion.

Last month, Jesse Boulerice was handed a 25-game suspension for cross-checking Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks in the face.

RE: Scott Hartnell suspended 2 games

That is a pretty unbiased article for TSN, I am impressed.
I don't see why this should be a suspension. Campbell says that Hartnell tried to let up before delivering the hit. Alberts had the puck or had just gotten rid of it, Hartnell did not lead with his elbow, it looks as though the elbow did inadvertently graze Alberts head. Why is Campbell talking about the injury, this should have no impact on the lenght of the suspension. The suspension should be based on intent or viciousness and Campbell says he tried to stop which to me says he did not intend to hurt the other player.
There was one of the Flyers hits that was ridiculous and everyone admits that Boulerice is an idiot. These other ones are getting blown out of proportion. People keep saying to me they would understand if it was one incident but that the Flyers are the only ones doing this type of stuff. These 'questionable' hits are happening almost every night but because of the Downie and Boulerice incidents the Flyers are being scrutinized much more than other teams. Take a look at Too-too in Nashville, he delivers some of the most vicious hits I've seen and does not get disciplined.

Boy I don't know Danimal - Checking someones head into the dasher is dangerous. He could have let up more than that. He even admitted he finishes all his checks.
