Second straight start

Canadiens to start Price against Atlanta

Rookie netminder Carey Price will start in goal on Tuesday when the Montreal Canadiens host the Atlanta Thrashers (TSN, 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt).

Price stopped 20 shots and did not allow a goal during the shootout in the Canadiens' 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night.

In three games this season, he is 2-1 with a 2.93 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

Both of Price's wins have come against Pittsburgh.

I am comfortable with either Huet or Price in net this year. Both of them have played strong games.

It will be an interesting game tonight. Price playing in front of the home crowd. Pressure Cooker!?, I don't think. Price has already shown he is a pro.

As much as I think he could handle a top team as he has shown beating Pittsberg twice, you have to believe part of this is just giving him more time and a better chance to win sense they're playing Atlanta

I agree with you S-Kings35, there is a good chance that the coaching staff saw this as a good opportunity to get Price another win and boost his confidence.

I do not believe that any team in the NHL should be taken lightly though. Atlanta has a quick team with some talented forwards. They know how to put the puck in the net.
