Selanne
I heard from someone that Selanne was asking about living in Florida and has been considering player her. It came from a very reliable source.
I don't see it happening but if it does you heard it here first.

RE: Selane
I don't think that has much chance of happening. The Panther's are improving but I think if Selanne comes back he will be going to a legitimate Cup contender not a team that will be fighting for a playoff spot, although stranger things have happened.

RE: Selanne
Without revealing my source - I heard that he is not sure about playing again but was asking about life down here and was considering Panthers. I was pretty shocked.
If he retires we're hoping he will come play with us, HA!!
Its a long shot but hey if it happens. QNHL had it first.
*** The person I was talking to went to Selanne's cup party in Finland. They got to drink champagne from the cup. I was very jealous. I guess the Florida talk was within the last couple days.
John
I was just thinking maybe he wants to come play with Jolkinen, who knows?

RE: Selanne
Why would he move from the Anaheim area to the Florida area? It seems like both spots are very similar culturally and geographically (weather, landscape, local area, etc). Also, I think its all but certain he will retire while Neidermayer may consider returning mid-season.

RE: Selanne
I am not saying it was a done deal. Just something I heard tonight and was like what - are you serious? So I thought I would post it. Like I said the source is reliable. The person is a very good friend of Selanne's.

RE: Selanne
In every interview he's ever given, Selanne's said that he'll only play for Anaheim and that the notion of playing anywhere else is ridiculous. He's said countless times that Anaheim is "his happy place." Why would he leave his happy place!? Haha

RE: Selanne
Well, I am not holding my breath on this deal. I just thought I would share what I heard.
One thing comes to mind about his interviews - Luongo always said he wanted to stay in Florida... Hmmmmm.... Maybe them players don't always tell the straight story.

RE: Selanne
Yeah just because he says he only wants to play in Anaheim doesn't mean a whole lot. If he was thinking of going somewhere else like Florida (not that I think that will happen) he is not going to say so. Then if he does end up playing in Anaheim again the fans and are going to think that he doesn't really want to be there.

RE: Selanne
That's true....but like you've all said, I just don't see him playing anywhere but Anaheim.
