And now for my two cents/experience:

I usually play with a cheap wood stick because I play defense and my sticks take a serious beating. I do have a 2pc composite stick I had for the occasional time I might play forward. Two weeks ago after we were done I was out practicing my slapshot with the composite stick and I borke it. I was surprised because that stick had seen very little ice time (maybe a shift or two). My cheap wood stick has seen a lot of ice time and is looking pretty beat but still going strong.

I am still thinking about picking up another 1pc composite though.

I think it's funny because my mom doesn't understand why I have three sticks with me at the game. She was telling me the other day I shouldn't need 3 sticks. She doesn't know. I usually bring 2 wood sticks for playing back & a shorter composite for playing up.
