The Oilers have traded defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron to the New York Islanders for Russian prospect defenceman Denis Grebeshkov.

hmm, I wonder why they would do that, I guess they have high hopes for this new guy.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - The Edmonton Oilers sent defensemen Marc-Andre Bergeron to the New York Islanders on Sunday for defenseman Denis Grebeshkov.
Bergeron, who has eight goals and 16 assists in 55 games this season, has spent his career with the Oilers. In 189 games over three-plus seasons, he has 33 goals and 88 points.
Grebeshkov was a first-round draft pick in 2002 and has played 33 NHL games, but is spending this season with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Russian league.
The 23-year-old defenseman is expected to remain in Russia this season. He'll be a restricted free agent this summer.

Actually, the Oil threw in a 3rd rounder too I believe. Looks like they are packing it in for this season!
