Anson Carter is on the move again.
The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired the 32-year-old winger from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a fifth round draft pick in 2008.
Carter has 10 goals and 17 assists in 53 games with the Blue Jackets this season. Carter scored a career-high 33 goals with the Vancouver Canucks last season. In 663 career games with the Blue Jackets, Canucks, Kings, Capitals, Rangers, Oilers and Bruins, Carter has totals of 201 goals and 219 assists.
''Anson is a veteran NHL player who has had some good goal-scoring years in his career,'' Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement. ''He will help strengthen our forward corps at a much needed time.''

Carter signed a 1-year deal for $2.5 million with the Blue Jackets last summer and is slated to become a free agent again after this season.
This is the seventh time Carter has been traded, second only behind Mike Sillinger (traded 10 times) among active NHL players. He has also changed his address twice on his own accord, signing as a free agent with Vancouver and Columbus in the last two off-seasons.

RE: TRADE:Anson Carter to Hurricanes
Great trade for the canes. They got a player they've wanted for a long time now for next to nothing. It's low risk with a possible high reward. If he can put up 33 goals with the Sedins he should do well on a line with Rod Brind'amour and Ray Whitney, his supposed linemates. He'll be playing tomorrow night and he'll wear #77 with the canes.

RE: TRADE:Anson Carter to Hurricanes
How is he considered a goon?
If he scored more points he could be considered for the Lady Byng.
Good trade for the Canes, didn't have to give up much for him.

In no way is Carter a goon!
Carter puts up pretty good numbers.
And I cant remember a time he was in the penalty box last year.

dont get so testy and yes he is a goon
I'm not getting testy and how about you explain yourself instead of just making a ridiculous statement without backing it up? I love how when I ask you what you mean by saying he's a goon you just respond with, "yes he is a goon." Give me some examples here. No one else seems to think he's a goon. He doesn't take a lot of penalty minutes and he doesn't have a reputation for dirty hits or anything of the sort so I'm interested to hear your reasoning. Enlighten me.
