The Eagle lands in Florida

After weeks of speculation, Sportsnet has learned Eddie Belfour has found a new home in Florida.

The Florida Panthers agreed to terms with Belfour on a one-year, incentive-based contract which will pay the goaltender in the vicinity of $750,000 base salary. Depending on games played and games dressed, the Eagle's salary could rise to over $1.5 million million.

very interesting. i'm not very surprised though. i think that florida made a good move by signing a player who has experience after luongo left. i'm not surprised if there are people who probably aren't happy with the signing and want to see belfour retire.

I dont. Beflour is a great goaltender with lot of hearts and talent. He also work very hard, so he will try hard to win games for his team. In my opinion, for a team like Florida, he's a way better backup than all the Anderson and Conklin on the earth!

Go Belfour go!

Belfour and Auld looks way better than Auld and Anderson. I was looking forward to having the canes play against that duo. If Belfour can stay healthy it's a good pickup. If not then it's not terrible, they still have Anderson.

Honestly... being a Panther fan I didn't want the to see them sign Eddie. Hopefully he can prove me wrong and not be all washed up.
