RE: The Next Great Goalie?
As far as prospects go, the Ducks have a couple of pretty good lookin' kids coming up. They have J.P. Levasseur, who's having a big season in the QMJHL and David McKee, an undrafted collegeiate player who signed with the team last year after setting records for GAA, Save % and Wins at Cornell University.
Of the two, Levasseur is most likely to be the starter in Anaheim in the coming years.
"How would you know? When I played you were in your 3rd year of
8th grade." - Ducks color analyst Brian Hayward to Sean Avery.

RE: The Next Great Goalie?
It is so hard to tell who will actually end up in the NHL unless they blow everyone away in junior. The Sens have had a few guys who have been great in the QMJHL like Simon Lageuness and Mathieu Chouinard who never got to the big leagues. I know one of them won goalie of the year in the Q or maybe even AHL but couldn't crack the Sens.
Levasseur may be a good prospect for the Ducks system but his numbers aren't that great right now in the Juniors.

is Mathieu related to Marc Chouinard of the Canucks?

RE: The Next Great Goalie?
I think they may be cousins if I remember correctly. There was a list on wikipedia of all the nhl players with relations in the league but I can't find it.

What the statistics don't tell you about Levasseur is that he plays behind a very unresponsible team defensively. While that can't be used as a complete crutch, it at least has to be taken into account.

RE: The Next Great Goalie?
Hey 6554,
I know stats can be misleading and I haven't heard anything about him so I shouldn't really say anything on the subject. I just noticed that he is on a top 4 or 5 team in the league and his numbers rank him around 13th in the league. You never know who will excel once they get to the NHL.

RE: The Next Great Goalie?
ive never seen a bigger group of haters after getting 2 shutouts and named 1 of the nhl's 3 stars Mike Smith didnt even get an honorable mention from you haters
Hey what's going on with Smith now? Oh ya, he's been incredibly cold and he just got sent down. You're in here to brag about him after a big game, how come you didn't tell us that?

RE: The Next Great Goalie?
Wow!!! Not much confidence in a guy who is supposed to be the next great goalie. But they do this to lots of upcoming stars, I hear Crosby is getting sent down tomorrow too.
