The Return of Pavel Bure?
With all this talk about the return of Peter Foresberg in recent weeks, I got to thinking, with guys like Forsberg and Teemu Selanne resurrecting their careers and returning from injury to play once more, wouldn't it be great to see some other players, whose phenomenal career was prematurely ended due a certain nagging injury, return for one more go in the new, revamped NHL today?
Pavel Bure has always been my favorite player, I remember watching in awe when I was younger, as he blew past defenders for the Canucks and embarrassed goalies with sleek dekes. As it stands, Pavel Bure is 36, one year younger than recently returning Selanne, and 2 years older than Forsberg, so a comeback at that age isn't impossible. With that said however, I understand we'll never see Pavel Bure on the ice in an NHL jersey anytime soon with his knee, but it's nice to just sit back and imagine how much of an impact, if playing at his best, he could have under these new rules.
With that said, what do you guys think? Competition for Ovie and Kovalchuk? Another 50+ goal season, or perhaps even a 60+ goal season? Would he return to his rookie days in Vancouver, or his glory days in Florida?
