The loneliest Sharks fan

The site seems to be mostly Ducks and Canucks fans so recognize my courage in posting this.

Take down Vancouver!

Bring some defensemen! Rofl1

Hannan's a ufa next year right? Cause one the canucks.com forum some people are saying that we should sign him because we wont be able to sign salo.+ every one talking about a mo for marleuo package. And that the sharks almost traded us Thornton but then Nonis backed away.

RE: The loneliest Sharks fan

If we pick up a top-2 defenseman this season they might not bid too hard on Hannan, which is a shame. He is one of my top 3 favorite players. The other two being Marleau and Irbe.

I highly doubt Marleau will be going anywhere. He actually takes a "home town discount", meaning he doesn't push for much in the way of salary just so he can stay in San Jose. He may be the first Sharks lifer. Not to mention, he is the captain. They'd have to offer a whole lot and Joe would have to show he can captain in the playoffs, as we have no other on-ice leaders except for Hannan. Marleau is also more valuable than Thornton during playoff time.

Marleau-being-traded-to-Canadian-team shows up in hockey rumors 5 times a day, its just wishful thinking, IMO.

Something huge will come in return for one of our goaltenders at some point this year and that'll be the decider. And it will surely be a defenseman, as SJ is bursting at the seams with offensive players. So as much as I'd hate to see him go, Hannan will probably be the first and biggest trade-away, with the exception of a goaltender in mid-season. Though I'd rather see him stay, of course.

Hannan is also a BC native, IIRC.

RE: The loneliest Sharks fan

I've liked the Sharks for quite a while. They are my favorite team out west, I think the Ducks are going to take the conference but the Sharks won't be to far behind.

Without a big move for a D-man, yeah the Ducks will probably take it and Sharks will go out in round 2 or maybe against the Ducks in the conference finals.

If they can upgrade their D then the Sharks will almost surely battle the Ducks for it in the conference finals, and probably get their first WCF win, too.

RE: The loneliest Sharks fan

If they can trade one of their tenders (I don't know which one) for some help on the blue line they might have a pretty good chance at fighting the Ducks.
