Theodore staying in Colorado?

Colorado Avalanche general manager Francois Giguere sounds like a man who has decided to bring back high-priced, disappointing goalie Jose Theodore for another season.
"My message to people is, 'Don't think that buying him out is going to be a big financial advantage for us.' It won't be," Giguere said Wednesday. "If you buy him out, two-thirds of his salary counts toward the (salary) cap, and we'd still have to sign a replacement for him."
That said, Giguere said a decision whether to bring back Theodore for the last year of a contract that will pay him $6 million has yet to be finalized.

I'm shocked, but I guess it makes financial sense. $4M to buy him out plus probably another $1M for a decent backup and its not that much of an advantage. Who knows, maybe he'll bounce back?

I don't think he will bounce back. He lost confidence, and he wasn't playing well for the last 3 seasons. Not sure why he will next year. He actually stopped playing well after he signed his multi-million contract with the Habs few years ago. I think he is currently one of the most over-payed goalies in the NHL.

It almost sounds like the Avs are stuck with him. Getting rid of him may cost to much.
Please don't send him to Florida! We all ready have goalie issues here.

Hes abit overpaid now, before ya maybe he was worth around 3-4M but now hes lost it hes done
