RE: Top defensive forwards

I think of Drury of more offensive than defensive. He has a pretty poor +/- rating considering he's been on good teams. I don't really think of him as a guy you put on the other teams top players. The players that get nominated for the Selke usually is out against the other teams top players, still scores goals and has a good +/- like Fisher, Draper and Lehtinen.

Drury's really more of a great all around player. He isn't absolutely spectacular on either Offense or Defense, but rather just pretty damn good at both. I would definitely want him on my team (if only for the clutch goals).

Wow...no Mike peca mention....hmmmmmmm.

I am just a stubborn leaf fan, but sommon, Peca has single handedly made the leafs more competitive on the PK, as well as shutting down teams top lines. Underrated defensive player

Peca isn't underrated defensively, he's won two selkes in the last decade. He just doesn't have the offensive game to get more consideration. He's definetely worth mentioning though.

RE: Top defensive forwards

There's no way Modano is on the scoring line and checking line. He doesn't log enough minutes to do so.
