Toronto's Defensive status

What do you think Toronto will do about the plague that seems to have the young Maple Leaf defense by the skates? Seems as though they continue to drop like flys.

Toronto needs to pick up some semi-veteran quick D's or else Raycrofts game will quickly decrease.

The Defense are currently:
Tomas Kaberle
Bryan McCabe
Hal Gill
Ian White
Wade Belak
Jay Harrison

So basically, 2 defense that we can count on, maybe 3 when Kubina comes back.

So what big name defense do you think Toronto could consider, because we are in trouble on the blue line at the moment.

RE: Toronto's Defensive status

I hear Leetch is still available. There are a lot of teams that need quick defensive help though. I don't know what kind of salary Leetch would be looking for or if he would be willing to go back. He probably would not be much use in T.O. though since he would be best used on the powerplay and they already have an overpaid defenceman who can only really contribute on the powerplay.

RE: Toronto's Defensive status

Im not sure to be honest, that was what I was thinking as well. Maybe I should take some time later and look into it.

As far as Leetch goes, I dont think it will happen. I like him he was a great player, but the new NHL isnt his style.

If Leetch does come back I hear that the Flyers are the ones most interested in him.

I think our defense is holding up pretty well.

RE: Toronto's Defensive status

It will get a pretty good test tonight against the Sabres.
