The Ottawa Senators have shuffled the deck in a big way by completing a four-player transaction with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Senators have acquired defenceman Mike Commodore and forward Cory Stillman in exchange for defenceman Joe Corvo and forward Patrick Eaves.
Commodore and Stillman are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents on July 1. Stillman had to agree to waive his no-trade clause to go to Ottawa.

Mike Commodore should be a great addition to the sens

Very good trade for the Sens. Trading Eaves is almost like trading a pick or prospect, it really doesn't effect the current roster. Bringing in 2 guys that have won Cups before should help the team.

RE: Trade - Ottawa/Carolina
Like Danimal said, great move for the Sens and their playoff run. Carolina wanted to trade two FAs and get something back. In that sense, they got a pretty decent return in a PP defenseman and a solid 2nd/3rd line forward with a little upside. I'm just curious if this means Carolina doesn't expect to make the playoffs if they're giving up on a guy like Stillman and a heart-n-soul player like Commodore.
