RE: Tuukka Rask!

I think that Rask will be a great goalie in this league. The Leafs should have held on to this one. Glad to see that he finally got a start. I was hoping to seem him against Price last time the Habs played the Bruins. I am sure that we will see those two battling against each other for a long time to come though.

RE: Tuukka Rask!

when I watched him in the first game he played for the Bruins this year, I had a felling that he might turn out to be an amazing goalie in a few years

RE: Tuukka Rask!

Leafs panicked when they traded him away because their GM wanted to do something so he'd keep his job longer. Rask will turn out to be a great goalie (way better than Raycroft). Leafs fans will wish they had him while he is shutting them down over the next decade.

RE: Tuukka Rask!

I'm not sold on Rask yet. I don't think that you can really tell anything about goalies until they have put in at least a season or 2 as a regular starter. So many goalies are great in junior and even the AHL and then do nothing when they get to the NHL. I would almost always trade a great goalie prospect for a proven above average goalie. Not that Raycroft was proven by any stretch. I don't think this was a good trade for the Leafs but I would not say at this point that Rask will be great.

RE: Tuukka Rask!

After Rask was drafted, he played a year or so in the Finnish Elite League and he did very well. Basically, a 19 year old was able to play great in a men's league (not juniors like AHL). I think he has a lot of tools to do well, he just needs to bring them together and get some experience.
