Weiss & Horton to Attend Cats Cookout on May 15

Quote:
The Florida Panthers announced today that C Stephen Weiss and RW Nathan Horton will attend the second Cats Cookout of the summer on Tuesday, May 15 at 6 p.m. Both players will available for approximately one hour to meet with the fans, sign autographs and take photos.

“There is no better place to lock up your great seats for the upcoming Panthers season then by attending one of our Cats Cookout,” Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing Chad Johnson said. “The feedback from our prior cookouts has been tremendous and we encourage all prospective fans to come join us to learn more about the benefits of becoming a Panthers season seat holder.”

For more information or questions about the Cats Cookout or other summer events please call 954-835-PUCK or visit www.floridapanthers.com.

I don't think I will make it to this one. I am bummed because I have never met either one of these guys.

Does anyone know if Horton still wants out of Florida or did he say that to get more ice time?

I think his agent said that to push negotiations. I don't think Nathan ever said it. He is a question mark though for next season.

Unfortunately, I did go to the cook out.

I did hear from a reliable source who talked to Matin Gelinas that his plans for next year are still up in the air. Will he be in Florida? Will he even play? He wasn't sure yet.

Heres a little something I found from one of the papers down here:

Quote:
Contrary to a report in February that he was unhappy and hoped to play elsewhere next season, Panthers center Nathan Horton said Tuesday he wants to sign a long-term deal with the team.

"There's no question I want to stay here. It's so much fun and it's going to be a place to be the next couple of years," Horton said at a free barbecue for fans at BankAtlantic Center. "Definitely, watching the playoffs, we're going to be there next year."
