RE: What Should The Leafs Do????
The way I see it they are in a pretty horrible situation right now, but regardless, I think if they aren't in contention, Sundin goes before deadline. But, I mean who couldn't work out a deal that would prove well in the future for Toronto, I mean I'm sure you could work out a deal where you could get a respectable young player currently playin, a prospect and I'd say a couple of picks. Maybe I'm crazy, but think about it, regardless they aren't really going to go into the rebuilding stage. They might get rid of Sundin, maybe even Blake, though I really can't see any team taking him. But yea, so in the offseason they are only going to spend what money they have, on making the team into a contender next season with UFA's or stealing rfa's on people.
So I really wouldn't worry, probably be in the same situation next year, with a new gm, what I'm thinkin they should do, instead of hiring an experienced gm (buy paying off anaheim say to let toronto have burke), or going with a retired player and a half experienced gm (like dallas did, I guess Toronto would go with Gilmour and a ex gm), but im thinkin what they really need is something crazy. Like off the charts, sign a nobody...cough me cough...and haul off a right crazy trade for a big name player, or a big name to be player. Who would that be? tell em to hire me and I'll let ya know.
