Carolina Hurricanes forward Ray Whitney underwent successful arthroscopic right shoulder surgery Tuesday and should be ready for the start of training camp.
Whitney's rehabilitation is expected to take about three months, the NHL team said in a release. The procedure was performed by Dr. Marty Isbell in Cary, N.C. Whitney had 32 goals and 51 assists for 83 points in 81 regular season games.
In 844 career regular season games, the 34-year-old Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., native has 254 goals and 419 assists for 673 points.
I wish Ray a full & speedy recovery.
