RE: Who can stop 'em??
I was hoping the habs would have done it but; I hope someone beats them soon. They do seem unstopable though. Good luck to all teams who try.

they will lose soon enough. It doesn't take too long for teams to get overconfident and careless, especially in october or november.

They are looking good to start. 9-0 is an awesome start that will help when it counts towards the end of the season. I am sure though that things will happen and they will be good but not untouchable.

RE: Who can stop 'em??
The Sabres are hot. Mostly everyone linked to the hockey world in some way knew they would be hot, but not this HOT!
Unforutantly for them though, it is very, very, very tough to finish a season off 82-0. It's also tough to start a season off 15-0, but I think the sabres are capable of both.
Let me get back to reality now. Buffalo's streak will be snapped soon. Maybe not against the Islanders in their next outing, but the Thrashers have a great chance to finish the deed.
Hopefully all players will get the message and not predict a win over the Sabres. Buffalo will just shove those words back in your mouth and make you wish you had never of said them. (NINNIMA)
3-4 more games the sabres will win at the most before they lose one.

RE: Who can stop 'em??
what team holds the record for most consecutive wins in a row to start a season? I don't think the Sabres have another 3 or 4 wins in a row left in them. Teams are going to start getting wise to the way the Sabres are playing. On another note Lindey Ruff is doing a great job. Good pick for the Jack Adams in my opinion.

RE: Who can stop 'em??
The 92-93 leafs have the record when they went 10-0 they would tie it against the isles and break it against the thrashers. Thats all anyone has been talking about here in Buffalo since the Bills suck, well I am really loving it at how good they are doing and i agree its very tough to go 82-0. Does anyone know who hold the best regular season record ever.

This is more than likely the answer to your question:
1976-77 Montreal Canadiens with a record of 60-8-12 and 132 points.

RE: Who can stop 'em??
Here's something to keep in mind:
the sabers could surpass the record for most consecutive wins in a single season held by the aforementioned 93-94 maple leadfs with 10. right now, buffalo has surpassed their old team record held in 75-76 of 8 straight wins. the 34-35 maple leafs and the 05-06 predators also had an 8 game win streak. however, NONE of these teams went on to win the cup in their respective years they had those big winning streaks. but i will say, if there is any team that could realistically win 11 straight and eventually the stanley cup, its this years sabers. as good as they are now though, they wont win 82 straight. i dont think any team could do that.
im with ryan, i think the thrashers have the best shot right now to knock off buffalo if kovy, hossa and lethonen can keep rolling. however, im not sure they can match up well defensively.

RE: Who can stop 'em??
The Sabres have 9 wins but under 92-93 stats when the Leafs did it they would be 6-0-3.
As mentioned above these teams with streaks at the start have not won the cup in the past. In 1993 the Penguins won 17 straight at the end of the season but the Canadians won the Cup. The longest undefeated streak was 35 games by the Flyers in 79-80 and I'm pretty sure the Islanders won the Cup that year. These streaks are fun but don't seem to matter once the regular season is over. All that matters is winning 4 of every 7 games you play. That is all you need to do to make the playoffs and win the Cup.
But it is a nice streak and I would love it if it was my team tearing up the league instead of the league tearing up my team.
