I almost started to cry when I heard the news that Bob Gainey traded Cristobal Huet for a 2nd choice in 2009. Not only he traded Huet, but he put the faith of the team in the hands of Carey Price who is only 20 years old and played 27 games... And Jaroslav Halak who is 22 years and played 2 games. This is a total disrespect to Huet. Carbo and Gainey never liked him and the confirmation of that came when Gainey said, during is press conference, that the team was better now that Jaroslav Halak and Mikhail Grabovski was now part of the team. Huet saved the Canadiens' ass when Theodore started his downfall, and after he got trade. Last year he help us until he got injured. This years Carbo destroyed his confidence with his little yo-yo game with the goalies... When Huet was not good he would put Price... When Price was not good... The next game Price was most certainly in the net. That's a total disrespect for a "supposed" number 1 goaler like Cristobal Huet. Anyways, I'm wishing the best of luck to Cristobal Huet in his new team.
Merci Cristo pour le bon hockey que tu nous a donné!

I was disappointed too when I heard the news. Having lived in Montreal for several years, I still follow constantly the team news. I think Gainey should have got more than a second round pick for Huet. I think a first round pick would have been a more fair deal. I'm disappointed especially for a second round pick, I would have kept him for the end of the season, and made sure he plays the playoffs with a team that is playing its best hockey. I think that move is a big risk, but I have a feeling that Price will also feel more confident (even though more pressured) to play without being worried that he will be put aside the next game if he makes one or two mistakes. He will be a great goalie and the N1 of the Habs this year and for the coming many years.
