I think Malkin should be a shoe in.

I think Patrick O'Sullivan has a good chance of winning the Calder, he's going to be on the top two lines with the Kings, and last season he burned the AHL.

I have to agree with both of you - I think either one of these guys could win the Calder this year with the way they play. We'll just have have to wait and see what happens this year.

If Malkin doesn't show up, I think that Dustin Penner has a pretty good chance of bagging The Calder this season. The guy's ready to explode offensively.

I haven't seen him play but if he's as good as Montreal fans are saying, then I think he has a shot if Malkin is a bust.

My opinion:

1. Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins

2. Gilbert Brule of the Columbus Blue Jackets

3. Luc Bourdon of the Vancouver Canucks.

Notables: Patrick O'Sullivan, Alex Radulov

Anze Kopitar looked really good last night for The Queens. He's going to be a star in this league.

My guess will be the obvious choice, Malkin. The two other nominees I have in mind are Patrick O'Sullivan and Matt Carle. Maybe (real outside shot) Josh Harding if he takes over the job in Minnesota, but I think that might just be someone's pipe dream.

Two goals and three assists so far for Kopitar. It's only two games, but he has shown a lot of skill already.
