ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Wild placed defenseman Sean Hill on injured reserve Monday with a sprained ankle.
Hill was hurt in Friday's game at Chicago. He has two assists and 11 shots on goal in 21 games for the Wild. He is minus-seven for the season.
The 37-year-old Hill is in his first season with Minnesota. He missed the first 19 games while completing a 20-game suspension for violating the NHL's drug policy.
During last season's playoffs, Hill — then with the New York Islanders — was suspended April 19 after testing positive for a banned steroid. He missed the final game of New York's postseason and was required to sit out the first 19 Wild games this season after he signed with the club as a free agent.
