DETROIT (CP) - The Detroit Red Wings re-signed veteran forward Tomas Holmstrom to a three-year contract on Saturday.
Holmstrom, 34, has developed into a consistent scorer in recent years, reaching the 20-goal mark in three of his last four seasons.
He headed into Saturday's game at Phoenix with 20 goals and 20 assists in 56 games.
Currently in his 11th NHL season, all with Detroit, Holmstrom has 145 goals and 190 assists in 678 games.
A 10th-round pick, 257th overall in the 1994 draft, Holmstrom also has 27 goals and 27 assists in playoff games.

Holmstrom is a true Red Wing!! He took Dino Dino Ciccarelli's place in front of the net for the Wings. Holmstrom is tuff.

I think they did the right thing,you got to keep the real wings players close,and his experience on the team is very important especially now yzerman has retired

he looked real good yesterday against the oilers,
the commantary said that he is what smyth is to the oilers,that statement is a bit too much I think, but he's shown his value
