Steve Yzerman is my favorite player in the NHL. He has been a regular staple with the Red Wings for more years then I can remember. Even his ridiculous furniture commercials aren't enough to make me dislike him. He is forever a Red Wing, and for sure a first ballot Hall of Famer. I just hope we can let him go with another championship.
Anyone else big Stevie Y fans?
I have always been a fan of Stevie even as a kid. He is a great player and a great guy! I think he should just be on another team

YUP, I agree with cochise. Yzerman is the MAN!! Every year I think it will be his last. I will sure miss him when he does retire. I will hate that day as much as when Scotty retired.
One thing about Steve is he was drafted by the Wings and has played his whole career there. The better portion of that time as team captain. I don't think many other players can lay claim to that.
BIG #19 Fan here!
John
I've never been a huge yzerman fan, probably because i've never been a huge red wings fan. I have seen him make some great plays infront of the net, though.
I like Stevie cause he's a heart player. He sticks out the injuries when his team needs him, he puts outs 100% everytime he plays, and he has never gave up on his team and never will.
yeah, one thing you can say about Yzerman is he will allways show up for a game and give 110%, a great leader, a great hockey player and a great guy all around!
Yeah, great leader. I have trouble supporting him unless it's with Team Canada, I have trouble supporting the Wings as well. I have to say though, I found it ridiculous that Babcock didn't put him on the ice for the dying seconds of the Edmonton series considering all that Stevie Y has put into that team and it was perhaps his final game. Hope he comes back next season, not that he'll be making any obvious impact anymore.
edit: haha, Babcock, that's funny... well, you guys know who I'm talking about, coach Mike "Babcoock"
Steve Yzerman is one of my top 5 favorite nhl players. He was such a great player, he battled for everything, he played with heart and he played injured.
Yzerman was one of the greatest in his time and of all time i think the NHL and his team will miss him.. Yzerman was a great all around player.. when he had the puck the other team would be scared because u never knew wat he was going to do with the puck
he had a great shot, i just remember that shot he blasted past fhur expecialy since the camera captured that so well just an amazing shot
