Sizzlin' Sid's steak has come to an end. : (

Of all the teams, It was the NY Islanders that brought Sid's streak to a hault. Crosby who usually lights it up against the Islanders was held pointless last night for the first time in 25 games (since Nov, 3rd).
Sid's 25 game point streak was the longest streak since Matts Sundin's 31 game point streak in 90/91. He played for the Nordiques, Thats how long ago that was. Crosby definately looked disapointed to have lost his amazing run but It may just be for the best. The Pens next game is the much anticipated Winter Classic against their favorite rival the Caps & Sid not having the stress of continuing his streak might be just what they need for the Pens & Crosby to relax & focus just on winning the game & not passing the puck to Sid.

There may not be enough time left this season for Sid to get on another streak but the way he works & pushes himself in the off season he may just come out & surprise us again next year.

Before this streak, Sid's previous carrer high game point treak was 15.
Yeah I too was dissapointed to see the streak come to an end. I didn't realize that it was against the Islanders, that sucks. But thats good for the Islanders hopefully they can pull a bit of confidence out of that at least.

The streak goes to show you how hard it is to produce points consistently in this league eh. Good job Crosby, you have a long time to beat the record. Just put the team first.

Good point on how Crosby probably won't have the pressure he would have in the winter classic trying to keep the streak alive.

maybe we should post some of his nicest goals or assists from the streak? I might try to find something
Great idea Mantracker!!! I love to rewatch those fantstic highlights.
He also had 2 hat tricks during that streak. 26 goals & 23 assists in 25 games. wow.
