discussion of the current poll

So here goes the discussion of the current poll of the main page. I personally chose Huet because I was really shocked to see him playing that well and adapt the pressure of Montreal so quickly. If the question was only related to the playoffs, I would have chosen Roloson.

I picked Huet also. He really stepped up for Montreal while Theo was away getting drugged up on Hair Tonic. I also would have chosen Roloson, im a big fan of his now, but as GSA said, It wasnt the best Goalie in the Playoffs, it was in the season.

I too picked huet, he was suppose to only be a back up and he ended up being an amazing starter for them.

Huet 'cause i'm a Habs fan!!!
No, because the Habs were going nowere with Thoedore. THe team was tottaly tranformed with Huet and it's because of him that we had made the series!!

Went with Ward

Like Huet, he was only a 2nd stringer at the start of the season and although Huet played great in a pressure cooker city, Ward just came up big a few more times to really impress.

Ward only had ten great games at the end of the season in the series. For Huet, 'twas for 30 games.

RE: discussion of the current poll

I can agree that Huet played well.

However when it mattered most - keeping your team in the playoffs, Ward was more "impressive"

Of course, as a Leaf fan I am a little biased. Big Grin

Yes ward was impressive in the playoffs... buts it's not a question about the playoffs now is it? Wink Huet was clearley the better of the bunch for the season.

And why is the Dominator an option. He was injured and played no more games after the oylimpics. He also set up Rays 8-2 thrashing. Ugh.

RE: discussion of the current poll

I don't think the poll question is '' Who had the best season?'' but ''who had impress you the most?''

As a habs fan, I saw a lot of ChristoWall and I was pleasently surprised!

Goaltenders who impress me the most:

Christobal Huet
Cam Ward
Dwayne Roloson
Dominik Hasek
Luongo/Brodeur/Kipper

Goaltenders who had the best season:

Mikka Kiprusoff
Christobal Huet
Dominik Hasek (before the injury)
Cam Ward (for his playoff performance)
Dwayne Roloson (again, only for his playoff performance)
Martin Brodeur (awful first half of season)
Roberto Luongo
