marleau rumors

Patrick Marleau does not need to be traded. but we do need a puck moving defensmen... here are some rumors going around

TO SJ:
Bryan McCabe

TO TORONTO:
Patrick Marleau

TO SJ:
Pavel Kubina
Bryan McCabe

TO TORONTO
Patrick Marleau
Kyle Mclaren
2nd round pick 08'

TO SJ:
Wade Redden

TO OTTAWA:
Patrick Marleau

TO SJ:
Wade Redden
Patrick Eaves/Antoine Vermette

TO OTTAWA:
Patrick Marleau
Christian Erhoff

TO SJ:
Matthias Ohland
Brendan Morrison

TO VANCOUVER:
Patrick Marleau
Christian Ehroff

san jose needs a second line center if they give up marleau, or need an even more solid defense. this way sharks gain benifits, as do all of the other teams

RE: marleau rumors

mccabe has a no movement clause in his contract. he can't be traded if he doesn't want to leave Toronto. IMO, San Jose loses all of those deals. San Jose needs a defenseman to play DEFENSE, so McCabe is out of the question anyways.

RE: marleau rumors

i like mccabe, but you have to realize his limitations. he's got a great shot, awesome on the power play, but he makes mistakes in his own zone. SJ has enough offense that they need someone to help them out defensively. I think Carle can develop into the puck moving PP defenseman they need, so there isn't a need for McCabe.

RE: marleau rumors

Anybody who trades for McCabe would be losing in the deal. Apparantly the only place he is willing to waive his no-trade clause for is the Islanders.

RE: marleau rumors

sharks are looking for a strong defense and leadership through experienced defensmen

McCabe fits that for Ehroff, and Carle. then vlasic would follow kubina

also sharks can replace mccabe with kaberle

for ottawa they need to get a second line center to fill up marleau or pick up a defencmen close to volchencov, chris philips.....
and to top it of maybe chris neil for the third line to add grit to the line up

RE: marleau rumors

Bah. The Marleau rumors are always to Canadian teams. And they never stop. Canadian fans want Patty real bad...

I stopped listening to Marleau trade rumors a long time ago.

But Ehrhoff... who wants him? You can have him.
