Who do you think is the best active goaltender in the NHL? Manny Legacy or Hasek if you ask me are the best.

My vote goes to Luongo he is one of the biggest factors in the Panthers current success personally.

Legace suprisingly has matured as a goalie. I always thought of him as a decent back up goaltender. I think maybe anyone who is halfway decent with the Wings in front of them might look good.

I am going to vote for Loungo. He made some awesome saves last night against the Lightning. To bad they lost.

I'd like to say Luongo, but being an Oilers fan, and paying special attention to the Flames the past few weeks, I gotta say Kiprusoff. He absolutely stands on his head, and I believe the Flames are the only team in the playoffs that wouldn't be close to a playoff team without their current goalie. And Calgary's 3rd!

Last time Kipper wasnt in net for the Flames, I believe the Flames lost 7-something.

I'm surprised no one has said Martin Brodeur. He's easily the best goaltender in the NHL currently.

Martin Brodeur .. He's playing well, the defense in front of him has gotten alot worse this year and he's still giving his team a chance to win.

I'm a Stars fan so gotta go with Marty Turco! He has done pretty well since taking over for Belfour!! But since I'm a Stars fan thats what I gotta go with!

I dunno... theres many goalies out there. Justin Pogge in the Junior Hockey Championship for Canada, but in the NHL... theres alot of them. Right now i'd have to say Ryan Miller or Dwayne Roloson for there teams in the Playoffs.

Can't remember his name right now, but the rookie goalie for the Ducks is really hot right now! The Ducks defense has helped a lot lately though shutting down the Aves shots.

I say Brodeur, Huet and Roloson. They all proved that they are dominant this season with their teams!

Right now I would like to change my answer to Just Dwayne Roloson because he is the only reason that the Oilers are still in it. If it wasn't for him the Oil would be setting a tee time for 11 o'clock tommorrow as the wings prepare for their Stanley Cup Final matchup.

I'd say Luongo, if only he was on a better team, Lundqvist and Miller are both unbeleivable as well

I agree with that list, but I'd move Lundqvist up to the big league list and move Cam Ward to up and comers.

I'm surprised so many people are jumping on the Cam Ward bandwagon. The guy is good, but we don't know how he performes over the entire year. I remember people thought Giguere would be the next Patty Roy after the year he led the Ducks to the finals. Now, no one thinks he's an "elite" goalie anymore. Don't get me wrong, Giguere is a "good" goalie and should be a starter in this league. Ward may someday join the "elite" club, but I think he has to prove he can get there on a consistent basis. For now, I think he belongs with Lundqvist, Miller, and Lehtonen as young guys who are close to kicking it to the next level.

in the future Kari Lehtonen will be easily the best goalie if he can stay healthy.

I think Turco is one of the most overrated goalies in the league. Year in & year out, he chokes in the playoffs while playing in front of one of the most solid defenses in the league. This past year was pitiful for Turco. He finished with a SV% under .900, which is horrible since you have goalies on horrible teams doing a lot better than him.

lol well its hard to get a save % over .900 when you only get 15 shots a game, and the ones that do get through are usualy good ones so 2-3 get past him, hint why the shitty save%, but i do aggree hes quite overrated, hes a pretty good regular season goalie but in the playoffs he chokes more then cloutier & gerber combind!

I gotta go with Luongo and Kipper these two have been great luongo throughout his whole career and kipper has just turned it on ever since going to calgary

I like Turco's style. Too bad he had a poor season last year though. What does everyone think about Fleury? MAF displays wicked agility and flexibility. He just needs to work on those rebounds...

I think Luongo is the best goalie in the league. If he could just play on a decent team and get in to the playoffs he will be great. With goaltending being so important in the playoffs especially if you get one who is hot any team with Luongo would have a chance to go deep in the playoffs.
I expect Fleury to be a lot like Luongo. Looks like he might make the playoffs at a much younger age than Luongo which will let him make a name for himself more quickly.

Oh, Marty Brodeur for sure is the best active goalie by far. It's hard to say who will be the next big goaltending superstar though. There are so many good young goalies now. But if I was to pick the next star I'd go with Fleury.

Because Kipper had one good season he is the best goalie in the league? the guy has a career record of 89-59-7. He was good last year and had a pretty good playoff the year before that but Broduer is definatley a better goalie. Look at their records this year. I would also take Luongo over Kiprusoff in a second.

I never said Kipper was the best goalie. I just mentioned him because someone said Brodeur was the best by far and I disagree with that. There are other guys currently on his level. We're not talking about best of all-time so his career record means nothing, it's what he's doing now that counts.

When you are talking about the best active goalie it has to be based on the last couple of years at least. If it was just based on this year Kiprusoff wouldn't even be mentioned because his record is just over .500.
I do believe you are right about Stonewall, I'm pretty sure he is a Sabres fan.

I don't base a goaltenders performance on his win-loss record because a lot of that has to do with the team in front of him. I don't consider the flames that good of a team. Same with the canucks. Luongo is a very good goalie but his record is affected by the lack of offense in front of him.

I would say FLeury. He's realy good. In a few years, he will be the best. And, as a ture fan, I would also say Huet. He really was the one who did that the Habs made the playoffs last yeat. He's amazing. With a best team, we would, I'm sure be one of the best in the NHL now.
