After some thoughts, I decided to remove the shoutbox because for several reasons:

-we should use the Private messaging system for private one-on-one messages, and the forums for new info (in posts or threads).
-it decreases the "professionalism" of the website when stupid comments are put there, or when adult or bad words were written => it was time consuming for us to moderate it.
-we should use the chat system for real discussion

I will also make a new feature, when time permits, that makes important announcement I want to make more "seen". We should also promote more the chat room, and do interesting events there. The first one will be the QNHL arcade tournament.

In the future, I might bring it back, but for now, I believe removing it is better for the forums.

Im all for it. The shoutbox is not gonna look pleasant on a site with lots of users nor be any fun to moderate.

Itll also encourage use of the chatroom, which is barely being used.

i definitely agree that removing the shoutbox will help a lot. i've only looked at it once or twice but never said anything in there. the chatroom needs to be used more than what is now and i definitely have to say that having announcements and more important things be more visible would help a great deal because i have a feeling that not everybody checks the announcement posts/threads.

i never really used the shoutbox so i wont really miss it, but i do aggree there were some questionable posts being made in it.
