RE: the jets are back???
I haven't heard anything but if it is true (I know the Preds were possibly getting a new owner with Jim Ballsillie), it will be interesting to see how everything plays out.

RE: the jets are back???
Sounds like the Preds will be moving. I think I heard that if they don't make a certain amount of money or have a certain number for attendance next year that Balsille will be able to move them and the main area being talked about is south western Ontario. Hamilton or Kitchener-Waterloo.

RE: the jets are back???
If NAshville is moving, it's sad for their fans. THe gm made a lot of trade and sign many good players to have a competitive team. THe fans had started this year to go to the preds' matches. I have no problem seing the Jets in the league once again, but I'm not sure that I would like to see an actual team moving...

RE: the jets are back???
I've heard nothing about a franchise coming to Winnepeg. The guy who is buying the Predators is interested in possibly moving the team to Hamilton, like tkaine said, or to another city in Ontario. I think when he wanted to buy the Pens, rumors stated he might move them to Quebec, but those were rumors.

RE: the jets are back???
Kansas City is the other likely candidate, because they have a new arena and are offering a 6 year free-of-cost lease IIRC for an NHL team. Very enticing.
Though if they have learned anything from this Nashville location it should be that you need a larger metro area to support a team. Nashville is relatively small and Kansas City is only slightly larger. (Nashville = 1.5m metro, Kansas City = 2.0m metro area population)
To give you a point of reference, the Detroit metro area is roughly 4.5 million and the Pittsburgh metro area is roughly 2.5m.

I heard that the free-of-cost lease was an offer specific to only Pittsburgh. KC wanted to have Sidney Crosby badly because he would be a great way to market the team, build a fan base, and start their franchise in the right direction. I don't think they'll give that same offer to another NHL team looking to relocate.
