who will make first trade
according to spector's hockey (http://spectorshockey.tripod.com/spector...mours.html)
there are a few teams who are apparantly rumoured to be negotiating trades. high on the list of teams to be trading includes phoenix, boston and the sens.
my question is this; which team do you think is going to make the first trade and which players will be involved?

I could see something happening between two struggling teams. Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Phoenix are my guess.

I would say Philadelphia, because they are going nowhere now. But, I think that San José could deal one of their 2 goalies for a solid defenceman or forward.

Philly will trade some depth at forward for a goalie or a mobile defencemen. I could see Jeff Carter or Mike Richards being traded.

Carter and Richards are the future, they seem somewhat untouchable to me right now.

RE: who will make first trade
I could easily see the Flyers make a blockbuster deal if firing Ken Hitchcocck and Bob Clarke doesnt work. Their have their seasons future riding on these next two or three weeks in the NHL season.
I could also see a shakeup in Phoenix, maybe Shane Doan being traded or something. Their in need for a great year to put them on the map. I'm sure the Coyotes will turn it around soon, but most likely end up around the bottom of the league when the season ends.
Others who might make a move in my mind might be: Tampa Bay, San Jose (goaltending situation), Anaheim (Goaltending situation) and Los Angeles

Why would they trade the future for help now? I can see Knuble/Forsberg being moved, especially since Forsberg is a FA at the end of this season. They can't seem to get anywhere with Hatcher and Rathje in the line-up.
Phoenix might sign Jason Allison, which would make sense, seeing how they just lost their #1 center.
Why hasn't anyone signed Yanic Perreault yet?

RE: who will make first trade
accorging to Spector's hockey it looks like Phoenix will be the front runner in signing Perreault... dunno if they will though. if they sign Yanic, they will keep the guys they have and make trades toward the deadline, if they dont, they will trade sooner rather than later
