Ribeiro is bright young star who will soon be the leader of the habs if he stays there but he only did get a 1 year deal if the habs were smart they resign him because he willl help in the future

I dont think it is a smart move because he'll just get better and he will wait for a better contract next year. I dont really like Ribiero though he is to much of a whiner.

When you score 100 points at 18 years in the NHL with Colby Armstrong and Shane Endicott as wingers, you can whine all you want. (Crosby whining is now a MYTH. Yes, sometime he whined, more at the beggining of the year, but he took maturity during the year.)

Now, saying Ribeiro is a great young leader is totally false. 26 years old is not that young, considering the third of your team is younger. Also, he's not a great leader at all, he's pretty much the opposite. I still think 1,9M/year is a lot for a sub 2nd liner, but what I like is that he only sign for 1 year. A bad year by him, and you won't see Ribeiro in a habs uniform anymore.

At last, Ribeiro will never wear any letters on the front of his jersey. Guys like Komisarek, Higgins, Chipchura, Bouillon, Begin etc ... will be named C and A way before him.

(I want Lang or Legwand!)
